we are ready for the test.....
We are back home again.
We are happy with
the results but not completely satisfied.
What we wanted to do (to work VK and JA, no matter what band) and to make 13cm
cross band QSO's was achieved.
It was difficult but we made it!
position of our antenna in QSO with JA4BLC and VK3UM see below
QSO with Yoshiro, JA4BLC
QSO with Doug, VK3UM few days later
Why we weren't
quite satisfied is the fact that more was possible. Especially in cross 13cm
band 2320/2304.
As we already reported, the first contest day we were looking for stations to
work in CQ-X,but unfortunately without success. The same with us calling CQ-X.
No QSO's! In the 7 days of our trip we had various problems, technical as well
as with mother nature (strong winds, snowfall) The antenna had to be put
together every day, and down again at/in darkness. Due to the strong winds, it
would have been irresponsible to leave them up all night.
The construction and dismantling of the antenna in the cold, wind and light snow was anything but fun ....
But what do you do for our hobby.
As far as for the technical problems, I repaired what was possible.
Georg in action....
Where it was not possible, we were helped by others. Here, special thanks to Slawek, DL6SH and Franz, OE9FKI who without 'question' or 'what' came to our cry for help.
Our thanks also to Sam, G4DDK for his 13cm preamp !
